Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one
another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the
manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the
more, as ye see the day approaching.
We humans are social creatures. God created us that way. He
created the family unit. He created the Church. We play better that way. No one
likes to be by themselves. It’s called loneliness when we’re isolated. I think
that’s why Jesus reassured us that He would never leave us nor forsake us.
But He tells us in this passage to stick together
and now because of this virus we cannot for the time being. What do we do? How do
we not forsake assembling together?
I spent a few minutes this morning wishing my daughter a
Happy Birthday in Osaka, Japan. It was such a blessing to use Facetime and see
her! The technology we have today is allowing us to stay in touch with each
other. As you know, we are now using Facebook Live to stream our worship to
everyone we can. We can text, talk, Skype, Facetime, and video chat with those in
our Church family.
So make the call, try the new technologies if you haven’t
already. Stay connected with your family, friends, and Church. For some of you
that may require one of your family members to drag you kicking and screaming
into this new world! It will be worth it.
Most of all remember He is with us. He gave us His Holy Spirit
to lead us and guide us. To comfort us and challenge us to stay in His word. To pray
to our Heavenly Father. Tell Him your sorrows, your concerns, and your joys. He
loves us. Let’s continue to love on each other!
In Him,
Steve
